30 August, Thursday – Shawnee, OK

Did I mention that it is hot here, day time temps way up at 35C.  We are meeting at the Rally at 8am for breakfast, then watching the blindfolded golf cart driver races then the girls are going shopping at the Shawnee Mall while the boys do a seminar at the Rally.  We had a great time in Kohls and Dillards who, lucky us, were having a 60% off sale!

A quick lunch at Braums, a quick look-see at TJ Maxx and then back to the rally to get ready for HH and dinner.

Kim and Larry at Cracker Barrell yesterday
Tonight’s entertainment was by a very talented artist Sarah Getto, a 34 year old who was born blind with a severe cleft palate.  She overcame these afflictions and taught herself to play the piano at 3 years old.  She has performed with the Oakridge Boys and did incredible justice tonight to songs written by Karen Carpenters, Anne Murray, The Supremes and Captain and Tennille etc.  She has the voice of an angel - the whole show was just brilliant.  Listen to this:

Our flag was at the Safari 30th Anniversary Opening Ceremony
